Hot Air Balloon

Yes, it's really a hot air balloon – definitely not something that X-Plane was designed for, but with a few tricks and the new "displaced weight" feature of X-Plane 5.54 I made it. Creating a fuselage shaped like this was not the easiest task ... Since there's no real gas burner available in Plane-Maker, this aircraft uses a VTOL jet engine in vertical position to gain altitude. At least the engine sound is from a real balloon's gas burner!

The cockpit is not designed after a real balloon (in fact I've never seen one from close up), but it will give you a "balloony" feeling anyway, especially if you set up a little wind to rock you in the air ...
