Enhanced Water

for Thierry Damman's Corsica scenery

Thierry Damman has created the most photo-realistic scenery for X-Plane 5 that I know: Corsica (for you non-Europeans: the upper one of the two islands west of Italy in the Mediterranean Sea).

To improve the look of the water areas and to make the scenery integrate seamlessly with my generic terrain textures, I replaced the water in all the coastline textures with my own enhanced water. This package contains all the modified textures plus a new one to replace the generic grass used in some places (the grass from my generic textures doesn't really fit into this scenery).

I also modified the ENV files so the water textures near the coast are less distorted. My water is less distortion-sensitive than the X-Plane original, but still looks better this way. Finally I removed a left-over of the original X-Plane Corsica scenery (the "north cape" appeared twice because the original was slightly farther north than the customized one) and did some other minor corrections to the ENV files.

Please note that these files are for X-Plane version 5.x only. It looks like the original scenery by Thierry Damman is no longer available – if you know a working link, please let me know.
