Links

Please inform me if any of these links doesn't work any more.

General X-Plane Sites:

  • www.x-plane.com – the official X-Plane homepage

  • www.x-plane.org – the "X-Plane Registry" is the first place to publish and look for custom aircraft and sceneries, lots of other useful stuff, and a discussion forum.

  • X-Plane Gateway – lots of links to other X-Plane web sites

  • The GloS project – free download of global scenery files for X-Plane

X-Plane Users' Sites

  • The Lemonade X-Factory by Marcelo M. Marques – The best user site I've seen so far, with several outstanding aircraft to download. Check out his Links page for more X-Plane-related links.

  • Tebor Aerospace – Sean Tebor makes interesting, very good looking fictional aircraft designs.

Interesting aircraft-related sites:

  • Luft '46 – a collection of German WW II aircraft designs that were (luckily) never built. Aircraft designers may find interesting ideas there to realize in X-Plane.

  • LTASI LLC is designing and building a new generation of airships. I'm currently working for them on an X-Plane model of their 30-XB (my first paid aircraft design job). The specifications are confidential at this time, but you can see pictures of the ship on their new web site (which is still under construction).

Organizations and projects I find worth supporting

  • The Rainforest Site – did you know that trees in the real world disappear almost as fast as if you turn them off in the X-Plane rendering options? However, turning them on again takes much longer ... Save a piece of rainforest with one mouse click. Also contains links to similar sites against hunger and other global problems.
  • climateprediction.net – help to improve climate modeling and global climate prediction by running a climate model on your PC!
  • MoveOn.org – if you don't know this organization, take a look, and if you share most of their points of view, as I do, please support them if you can.

  • The Planetary Society is the world's biggest privately funded group supporting planetary exploration and both manned and unmanned space flight. I've been a member for several years now.
